So many things bound her to the world that she thought she could never disappear. 

She watched a love grow; she watched it disappear, too. She kept a memory alive that she later realized she despised. Her grief turned into a knot, that knot into bonds, and those bonds tethered her to everything she loathed. 

She never loved a man. 

She always loved like an animal; she loved with every pore of her skin, she loved the way one loves to breathe... She was just another victim of the world, an obscene world that dictated how to love, whom, and when.
